Click It or Ticket: Make Seat Belt Use a Daily Habit

Post Date:05/18/2017 6:24 PM
As summer kicks off and families hit the road for vacations, the Leesburg Police Department is reminding motorists to Click It or Ticket. Aimed at enforcing seat belt use to help keep you and your family safe, the national seat belt campaign will take place May 22 through June 4, concurrent with one of the busiest travel and holiday weekends of the year.

“It is heartbreaking to respond to the scene of a crash to find that someone has succumbed to their injuries due to not wearing their seat belt.  The Click It or Ticket National Campaign is meant to bring awareness to this deadly issue that affects hundreds of drivers, passengers and their families here in the Commonwealth every year.  The simple practice of fastening your seat belt could be the deciding factor to making it to your destination alive.  Please take it seriously and ‘Buckle Up!’” said Leesburg Police Chief Gregory Brown.

Please help us spread this life-saving message before one more friend or family member is killed as a result of this senseless inaction. Seat belts save lives and everyone – front seat and back seat, child and adult – needs to remember to buckle up, every trip, every time.
