The Information Technology Office provides effective technological solutions to the Town of Leesburg elected and appointed officials and employees in order to facilitate the conduct of transparent government business processes.  Our responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the Town's network and Public Safety computer systems
  • Manage and direct the growth, performance and standardization of hardware and software systems 
  • Coordinate with Town departments on projects requiring technical support, information services or infrastructure changes
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technology and vendors
  • Recommend hardware and/or software for departmental use
  • Provide training and technical assistance with software applications 
  • Coordinate and support web sites and web applications for Town and citizen use 
  • Define and implement guidelines pertaining to:
    • Network Security and Management
    • Internet and Email access
    • Backup procedures
    • Software licensing and compliance
    • Equipment standardization (hardware/software)
    • Preventative measures  (against virus/malware/spyware/spam/phishing)
