For more than 250 years, Leesburg residents and elected officials have overseen the development of their community. From a rural hamlet to the seat of one of the fastest growing counties in the country, Leesburg has seen many changes. Through the many years of growth and prosperity, Leesburg has been able to maintain its identity as a beautiful place with a strong quality of life.
A fundamental tool used to guide the Town’s development is the Town Plan. Mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, this comprehensive plan provides the Town’s vision for the physical development within the Town limits and in adjacent areas governed by Loudoun County. Comprehensive planning addresses such areas as community design and transportation, facilities and services. Link to the Town Plan components:
The current version of the Town Plan was last amended on January 28, 2014 (see: Town Plan).
