Calls to the Leesburg Police Communications Center from alarm monitoring companies have been on the rise. A large number of these calls are found to be false alarms - alarm dispatches to the Police Department where the responding officer finds no evidence of criminal offenses or attempted criminal offenses. Every year, false alarms cost thousands of dollars as law enforcement personnel are diverted from proactive prevention efforts. Our goal is to reduce the growing number of false alarms, which have a significant impact on department resources, affecting the community as a whole.
