The Leesburg Police Department stands as a cornerstone of community safety and service for the Town of Leesburg, Virginia. With a commitment to excellence and a dedication to fostering trust and partnership within the community, the department serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the town. To serve our rapidly growing community of over 48,974 citizens, our department consists of traditional patrol units as well as specialized units equipped to handle traffic complaints, complex investigations, and emergencies.  The LPD also has our own Emergency Communicaitons Center, and our station is the only one in the local area to remain open 24 hours a day.

Our department is a full-service law enforcement agency emphasizing the philosophies of community policing and providing proactive crime prevention programs. Serving under the command of Chief of Police Thea Pirnat, our authorized strength is 87 sworn officers and 22 civilians.
