Thomas Balch Library has a new venue for sharing Leesburg’s history, the Donaldson Log Cabin, located at 14 Loudoun St. SW next to the Town Hall Parking Garage.  

Staff and volunteers are using the space for processing archival collections and hosting pop-up exhibits during Leesburg’s popular First Friday events. Exhibits and events will be scheduled at the cabin throughout the year.

 

First Friday at the Donaldson Cabin: Student Work Showcase

Featuring a Capstone exhibit of artwork by Loudoun County High School Student Katherine Garvey. A graduating Senior, AP Art student and Scholastics National Medal Award winner, Garvey’s artwork includes multimedia works incorporating a wide range of media and layered materials.

Thomas Balch Library staff and volunteers will also be on hand with a display of archival collections processed by interns and projects created by local students using Thomas Balch Library collections during the 2023-2024 school year.  

Drop in at any time during the event. No registration required.
