Donaldson Exterior

Thomas Balch Library has a new venue for sharing Leesburg’s history, the Donaldson Log Cabin, located at 14 Loudoun St. SW next to the Town Hall Parking Garage.

Staff and volunteers are using the space for processing archival collections and hosting pop-up exhibits during Leesburg’s popular First Friday events. Exhibits and events will be scheduled at the cabin throughout the year.

First Friday at the Donaldson Cabin: Leesburg Day!

Join us to celebrate Leesburg! Leesburg was founded by an act of the Virginia Assembly in September 1758 that was ratified by the royal governor on October 12, 1758.  This pop-up exhibit will feature historic records from Thomas Balch Library's collection that document the earliest days of Leesburg. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy hands on activities, take a photo with one of the key players in the creation of the town, and enjoy other historical activities.

Drop in at any time during the event. No registration required.
