Gibran Parvez will present Heritage Dulles, an interactive map that explores the area within and around Dulles Airport over multiple time periods, on Thursday February 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at Thomas Balch Library.
Participants will travel through time using an online interactive map-based museum, which is the culmination of research from a litany of sources, focused on hamlets and historical sites that stood within and around today’s Dulles Airport.
Developed with the use of resources at Thomas Balch Library, Heritage Dulles brings forth never-before-seen research and photography to illustrate what life was like in the age of turnpikes and railroads, all from a web browser to anywhere in the world.
Gibran Parvez is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington and works in the GIS field in Northern Virginia.
