Special Events

If you are interested in hosting an event within the town limits of Leesburg on public property or within a Leesburg park, a Special Events Permit Proposal Application is required. This application will allow the Special Events Committee to review your event and gather details such as time, date, location, and crowd size. The need for Town services, such as police presence, traffic control, or street closures will also be evaluated. Please note all applications must be received at least 45 days before your proposed event date.

Before submitting your application, please review the Special Events Policy which contains procedures for applying for an event within the Town of Leesburg. This policy also covers how special circumstances are handled including weather cancellations, costs for services, and more.  If you do not have a Public Safety Plan for your event, please complete the Public Safety Plan for Special Events and submit it along with the Special Event Permit Proposal Application.

If you are interested in using the Town Green in front of the Leesburg Town Hall, please submit the Town Green Stage Application.

If you are interested in advertising your Leesburg community event on one of the Town's two signboards, learn more on the Special Event Sign Application page.

If you are a vendor interested in joining one of the Town events, please go to the  Festivals & Community Events page, where you will find a list of events, each including a link to additional information and the appropriate application (if applicable).

Video and Photo Shoots

Any professional photographer or video/film production company that wants to film, video or take photos for commercial purposes on public property in the Town of Leesburg, including in Town parks, must obtain a filming permit. There is no fee for the permit itself, but there are fees for Town services such as traffic control and Right-of-Way permits, if needed.  Please submit a completed Filming Permit Application at least 5 business days prior to the first day of the proposed video/photo shoot. If your shoot will require street closures or traffic control, the application must be submitted 30 days in advance.
