The Town of Leesburg offers a variety of sports classes and programs for most ages. The programs are designed to introduce and teach the fundamentals of each activity and sport. Classes are taught by experienced instructors and coaches who will ensure your child will have a fun and exciting experience.

Basketball

(Ages 4-12) Basketball is a great way to teach your child the value of team work. Learning how to work well with others towards a common goal is a valuable life skill on and off the court.

This class will teach the basics of the sport including shooting, dribbling, and passing.  The kids will be grouped according their age, and the basket’s height will be adjusted appropriately. The goal of this class is to teach our little ballers fundamental skills and techniques that will improve their overall performance on the court. At the end of the session - scrimmages will be held to debut their new and improved skills.


Cross Country

(Ages 10-14) Did you know that over 1 billion pairs of running shoes are sold worldwide every year?! Long distance running is one of the best ways to get those endorphins pumping, keep fit and build stamina. I can already hear “Eye of the Tiger” playing in the background. This class is a great opportunity to get some cross country and running training by using both paved trails and Ida Lee Park’s scenic cross country trails. The class will cover technique, form, distance & hill training, nutrition, and fitness subjects.


Pickleball

(18+) Do you want to learn more about one of the fastest growing sports in the nation?  Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  Pickleball allows you to work on your balance, agility, reflexes, and hand-eye coordination without putting excessive strains on your body.  


Baseball

(Ages 4-7) Take me out to the ball game!  Here is a chance for kids to come out and learn about the game of baseball. They will develop the basic techniques of throwing, catching, fielding, batting, and playing the game. 


Soccer

(Ages 4-12) Kids will get a kick out of this class! These classes are designed with the beginner player in mind. Classes instruct youngsters in kicking, passing, rules, proper footwork, and learning good sportsmanship in a fun noncompetitive environment. Outdoor classes offered April-early November and indoor classes offered during the winter months.


Volleyball

(Ages 10-14) Bump, set, spike! Learn about the exciting game of volleyball. This program will help your child develop the skills and techniques that are essential for playing volleyball. Learn how to properly set, spike, pass and serve. Beginner and Intermediate classes are offered for varying skill levels.
