Each summer, the Leesburg Police Department offers a variety of one-week day camp summer camps to local youth. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

How do I find out when the upcoming summer camps will be held?

The upcoming summer camps are announced via news release each spring. We recommend that you subscribe to the Town's email distribution list and follow LPD on social media.

How much do the camps cost?

All Leesburg Police summer camps are provided at no cost to participants.

Participants will receive a camp shirt and MUST wear this shirt while attending camp.

Depending on the specific camp, campers MAY be responsible for bringing a water bottle and bag lunch each day of camp.

Where are the summer camps held?

Camp locations vary depending on the camp.  Please refer to each camp for additional information. 

How many camps do you offer each summer?

The total number of camps and types of camps offered each year can vary year-to-year based on a variety of factors including community partnerships, staffing, and community interest.

What is the total number of youth allowed to participate in each camp?

Please see the individual camp web pages and/or online applications for information about the maximum number of campers for a specific camp.

Are the camps full-day or partial-day?

The length of the camp day varies by camp.

Each camp's hours can be found on the respective camp's webpage and/or online application.

How do I apply?

Click on one of the above camp web pages and complete the online camp application.

All applications are reviewed and those accepted to the program are notified by email and/or by phone. Applying DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into the camp.

When should I apply?

LPD summer camps are filled on a first come first serve basis. Residents of the Town of Leesburg are given first consideration. We recommend that you apply soon after we announce the upcoming summer camps.

Can my child participate in more than one LPD camp this summer?

Priority is given to those who are not attending another LPD camp this summer.

Can my child participate in an LPD summer camp this summer if they participated in an LPD summer camp last summer?

Priority is given to those who did not attend an LPD camp last summer.

Why can't I find the Camp Independence application?

There is no application for Camp Independence. Camp Independence participants are selected by the Leesburg Police Department in partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools.
