In 2023, the Leesburg Police Department (LPD) implemented a community engagement and feedback solution that uses text messaging to provide members of the public with an opportunity to provide feedback with our agency via a QR code. This innovative approach allows for more direct and convenient communication between the community and the police department.
Those participating will receive a short 9-question text message survey. The questions cover topics such as community safety, employee proficiency, and overall agency performance. Those taking the survey will also have an opportunity to provide free-text feedback.
By implementing and effectively utilizing this feedback solution, the LPD can strengthen its relationship with the community, address concerns, and work collaboratively towards creating a safer and more inclusive environment.
Provide Post-Incident Feedback via a Text Message Survey
In 2023, the Leesburg Police Department (LPD) additionally implemented a community engagement and feedback solution that uses text messaging to provide members of the public with an opportunity to provide feedback after a non-life-threatening interaction with our agency. This will provide the Leesburg Police Department with the ability to automatically hear the community’s perspective on what we are doing well, where we can improve, and what concerns they may have.
A few hours after or the next day after a non-life-threatening incident, LPD will automatically send a 4-question text message survey to the phone number of the individual who called our Emergency Communication Center. The quick survey will individually touch on the caller’s experience with both the dispatcher(s) and the officer(s) who assisted them. It will also allow citizens to provide their own free-text comments or feedback.
Surveys for calls received after 8:00 PM will be sent out the following morning after 8:00 AM. Those who do not wish to participate can reply with STOP to opt out of all future text message surveys from the department.
