There is no application for Camp Independence. Camp Independence participants are recommended by Loudoun County Public Schools.
Camp Independence is for high school students with disabilities. Through a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and interactive sessions, our goal is to equip these young adults with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the world with confidence and resilience.
Camp instruction will be provided by LPD School Resource Officers, Cadets, Loudoun County Public Schools volunteers, and community partners.
Topics of instruction will include budgeting and shopping, cooking and food preparation, law enforcement contact and safety, animal care and safe handling, and how to prepare for a job interview.
Campers are asked to bring their lunch each day. Camp Independence shirts are provided for each camper to wear daily.
This camp is in partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools, Loudoun County Animal Services, Loudoun Credit Union, Leesburg Volunteer Fire Station Company 20, and the Town of Leesburg Human Resources Department.
