The Town of Leesburg Utilities Department asks for your partnership in our Adopt-a-Hydrant program to help keep hydrants visible and accessible in case of emergency.

As a hydrant adopter, you agree to:

1. In the winter, clear approximately 3 feet around your adopted hydrant in all directions of snow and ice after each winter storm. In addition, ensure that there is a clear path from the street or roadway to your hydrant.
     
2. In the summer, keep the same 3-foot radius around the hydrant clear of high grass, weeds or shrubbery.
     
3. Notify the Utilities Department promptly if the hydrant is damaged, missing caps, leaking water, in need of repainting, or blocked.

To start, zoom in on the map below to locate the hydrant you wish to adopt. Once you select a hydrant, note the hydrant number. Click on the link to complete the online Adopt-a-Hydrant application form.

Your efforts to maintain clear access to hydrants through the Adopt-a-Hydrant program are very important and appreciated by our local firefighters.
