Newspaper Notices

The Code of Virginia requires that all localities publish notices of all public hearings before the Town Council and Planning Commission.  The newspaper of record for the Town of Leesburg is Loudoun Now. Public hearing notices are published not more than 21 days and not less than 6 days prior to the hearing date.

Website Notices

In addition to publishing newspaper notices, the Town of Leesburg also publishes notices of public hearings on the Town website. The calendar below lists upcoming public hearings before the Town Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Architectural Review, and Town Manager.

At these hearings, all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard. Qualified individuals with a disability who require a reasonable accommodation to attend and/or participate in the public hearing, should contact staff to request the accommodation:

Town Council Public Hearing Notice on the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024

TOWN OF LEESBURG 
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET
FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2023 - JUNE 30, 2024

In accordance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, § 15.2-2506, the Leesburg Town Council will hold a public hearing on: 

Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
 in the Council Chambers of Town Hall
25 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA

 At which time the public shall have the right to provide written and oral comments on the Town's proposed budget for fiscal year July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. If the public hearing is canceled for any unforeseen reason, the public hearing will be held during the next Town Council regular meeting.  

This budget is prepared for informative and fiscal planning purposes only. Such preparation, publication, and approval shall not be deemed to be an appropriation. No money shall be paid out or become available to be paid out for any contemplated expenditure unless and until there has first been made an annual, semiannual, quarterly, or monthly appropriation for such contemplated expenditure.
  
Copies of the proposed budget are available on the Town website and for inspection at Town Hall, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, and at the Thomas Balch Library, 208 West Market Street. Public Input Sessions

In addition to formal public hearings, the Town often schedules open public meetings to provide citizens with information about specific projects or issues, and offer them an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to Town staff. When these meetings are scheduled, they will be posted on the Public Input Sessions page.
