Put A Finger On It! Smoke Alarm Program

Smoke alarms save countless lives each year.  In 2008, the Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue & Emergency Management began its "Put A Finger On It" Smoke Alarm Program to raise awareness of the importance of smoke alarms and to provide free smoke alarms to all County residents.

Through this program, residents can schedule a free home safety inspection.  If, during the inspection, smoke alarms are found to be broken or outdated, department personnel will replace them at no cost, and install additional alarms where necessary.  The program is free of charge and available to all Loudoun County residents, regardless of whether their homes have existing smoke alarms or not.  For more information or to schedule an inspection appointment, please call 703-737-8093 or visit www.loudoun.gov/smokealarms.
