Most animal control and other animal-related services within the Town of Leesburg are provided by the Loudoun County Department of Animal Services.

However, the following animal-related issues are handled by the Town:

  • Dog complaints, including complaints about barking, dogs running loose and vicious dogs, are handled by the Leesburg Police Department.
      
  • Complaints regarding the keeping of wild or exotic animals, livestock, or poultry in residential areas of the Town are handled by the Leesburg Zoning Division. Prior to making a complaint, you may want to review the applicable section of the Town Code.
      
  • Dead animal pickup from public streets is provided by the Leesburg Street Maintenance Division.

If you are concerned about large numbers of vultures roosting near your home, please contact the Leesburg Police Department at 703-771-4500.
