Newspaper Notices

The Code of Virginia requires that all localities publish notices of all public hearings before the Town Council and Planning Commission.  The newspaper of record for the Town of Leesburg is Loudoun Now. Public hearing notices are published not more than 21 days and not less than 6 days prior to the hearing date.


Website Notices

In addition to publishing newspaper notices, the Town of Leesburg also publishes notices of public hearings on the Town website. The calendar below lists upcoming public hearings before the Town Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Architectural Review, and Town Manager.

At these hearings, all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard. Qualified individuals with a disability who require a reasonable accommodation to attend and/or participate in the public hearing, should contact staff to request the accommodation:

TLOA-2023-0002 I-1 Maximum Building Height Zoning Ordinance Amendment

 

TOWN OF LEESBURG

NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLES 6 AND 10 FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVISING THE MAXIMUM BUILDING HEIGHT

IN THE I-1 DISTRICT

 

 

Pursuant to Sections 15.2-1427, 15.2-2204, 15.2-2205 and 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the LEESBURG PLANNING COMMISSION will hold a public hearing on THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176 to consider Zoning Ordinance Amendment TLOA-2023-0002 to revise the following provision of the Zoning Ordinance:

 

Article 6, Section 7 I-1, Industrial/Research Park District – Amending this section to increase the maximum building height from 50 to 65 feet in the district, subject to standards to minimize the impact of the height increase on adjoining properties.

 

Article 10, Section 2 Nonresidential Zoning Districts - Amending the Density/Intensity Tables to reflect the increase in height in the I-1 District.

 

Copies and additional information regarding these proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments are available at the Department of Planning and Zoning located on the second floor of the Leesburg Town Hall, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), or by calling 703-737-7920 and asking for Brian Boucher, Deputy Director. Mr. Boucher can also be reached by email at bboucher@leesburgva.gov.  This Zoning Ordinance amendment application is identified as case number TLOA-2023-0002.

Public Input Sessions

In addition to formal public hearings, the Town often schedules open public meetings to provide citizens with information about specific projects or issues, and offer them an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to Town staff.
