Newspaper Notices

The Code of Virginia requires that all localities publish notices of all public hearings before the Town Council and Planning Commission.  The newspaper of record for the Town of Leesburg is Loudoun Now. Public hearing notices are published not more than 21 days and not less than 6 days prior to the hearing date.

Website Notices

In addition to publishing newspaper notices, the Town of Leesburg also publishes notices of public hearings on the Town website. The calendar below lists upcoming public hearings before the Town Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Architectural Review, and Town Manager.

At these hearings, all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard. Qualified individuals with a disability who require a reasonable accommodation to attend and/or participate in the public hearing, should contact staff to request the accommodation:

Public Hearing: Right of Way License Agreement with FiberLight, LLC

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 TO CONSIDER A LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH FIBERLIGHT, LLC FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES WITHIN TOWN RIGHTS-OF-WAY

 Pursuant to Virginia Code ยง 15.2-1800, the LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL will hold a Public Hearing on:

 Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 7:00 P.M.

in the Council Chambers of Town Hall,

25 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA

at which time the public shall have the right to present oral and written testimony on the proposed license agreement authorizing FiberLight, LLC to use certain Town rights-of-way and publicly owned property for telecommunications purposes to install, operate and maintain fiber optic cable, for a term of five years, upon certain terms and conditions.

 Copies of the proposed Resolution, the proposed License Agreement for Telecommunications Facilities between the Town FiberLight, LLC and additional information regarding the proposed agreement, are available from the Clerk of Council, located in Town Hall, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.); or by calling Eileen Boeing, Clerk of Council, at 703-771-2733.

 At this hearing, all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard.  Persons requiring special accommodations should contact the Clerk of Council at 703-771-2733, three days in advance of the meeting.  For TTY/TDD service, use the Virginia Relay Center by dialing 711.

Public Input Sessions

In addition to formal public hearings, the Town often schedules open public meetings to provide citizens with information about specific projects or issues, and offer them an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to Town staff. When these meetings are scheduled, they will be posted on the Public Input Sessions page.
