Newspaper Notices

The Code of Virginia requires that all localities publish notices of all public hearings before the Town Council and Planning Commission.  The newspaper of record for the Town of Leesburg is Loudoun Now. Public hearing notices are published not more than 21 days and not less than 6 days prior to the hearing date.


Website Notices

In addition to publishing newspaper notices, the Town of Leesburg also publishes notices of public hearings on the Town website. The calendar below lists upcoming public hearings before the Town Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Architectural Review, and Town Manager.

At these hearings, all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard. Qualified individuals with a disability who require a reasonable accommodation to attend and/or participate in the public hearing, should contact staff to request the accommodation:

NOTICE OF TOWN COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO 
ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION 10.4.6


Pursuant to Sections 15.2-1427, 15.2-2204, 15.2-2205 and 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, the LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL will hold a public hearing on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176 to consider Zoning Ordinance Amendment TLZNOA2024-0003.

Section 10.4.6.C Structures Excluded from Maximum Height Limitations – a revision to the Zoning Ordinance to add an exception to the maximum building height for enclosed rooftop amenities in the B-1 (Community (Downtown) Business) zoning district. 

Copies and additional information regarding this proposed Zoning Ordinance amendment are available at the department of Community Development located at 222 Catoctin Circle, Suite 200, Leesburg, Virginia 20176 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), or by calling 703-771-2765 and asking for Mike Watkins, Zoning Administrator. Mr. Watkins can also be reached by email at mwatkins@leesburgva.gov.  

At this hearing all persons desiring to express their views concerning these matters will be heard.  Persons requiring special accommodation should contact the Clerk of Council at (703) 771-2773, three days in advance of the meeting.  For TTY/TDD service, use the Virginia Relay Center by dialing 711.

Public Input Sessions

In addition to formal public hearings, the Town often schedules open public meetings to provide citizens with information about specific projects or issues, and offer them an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to Town staff. When these meetings are scheduled, they will be posted on the Public Input Sessions page.
