In the fall of 2022, the Leesburg Town Council initiated an update of the Crescent District Master Plan to reevaluate land uses, building heights, architecture, opportunity sites, and housing goals. The Council also directed staff to analyze why not has much changed in the Crescent District since the area plan’s adoption over 15 years ago.

Since 2006, the vision for the Crescent District has contemplated a vibrant mix of uses that incorporates new amenities and places to visit for Town residents. This effort to update the Master Plan will help to refine that vision in the context of today’s market conditions and community preferences. Town staff needs your feedback on what aspects of the plan need refinement.

The Planning Commission reviewed a first draft of the revised master plan document at their meeting on June 20, 2024.  Additional work sessions were held on August 1, 2024 and September 5, 2024. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the master document at public hearing on October 17, 2024.
