Historic Preservation
Welcome! From the creation of the Old and Historic District (OHD) in 1963, the Town of Leesburg has been committed to the identification, documentation, and preservation of historic resources throughout the Town for more than 60 years.
The Preservation Division is the primary point of contact for the Old and Historic District, Gateway Overlay District, and the proffered H-2 District. The primary role of the Preservation Division is the protection and enhancement of heritage resources in Leesburg. Staff in this division also support the Board of Architectural Review and provide guidance on preservation projects throughout Town.
In remembrance of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, Please view our Remembering D-Day and Leesburg at War story map.
A project to conduct a new architectural survey of the OHD core is currently in the beginning stages. Please visit our project page for additional information.
