Tax Bills

As of January 1, 2020, Loudoun County bills and collects personal property taxes for the Town of Leesburg. Leesburg property owners will receive a single bill with County and Town taxes listed separately and will make a single payment directly to Loudoun County. 2019 & Prior Year Personal Property Tax Bills:

The Town of Leesburg has enlisted the services of an outside collections agency to collect all 2019 and prior year delinquent taxes.  The collection agency, Nationwide Credit Corporation (NCC), is located at 5503 Cherokee Avenue, Suite 100, Alexandria, VA, 22312.  Please be aware that NCC does make cold calls to Town of Leesburg taxpayers that have delinquent tax bills outstanding.  Taxpayers should contact NCC directly at 571-699-1128 to have an NCC representative review the details of outstanding tax bills or to make payment by phone.  Payments can also be made online at their website www.nccarm.com/payments.

Vehicle License Fee

Upon registering your vehicle with the Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue's Office, you will receive a license fee bill of $25.00 for automobiles and motorcycles. This fee is due annually in addition to any personal property taxes.

Delinquent Accounts & DMV Stops

Payments not received by the due date are subject to a 10% penalty and interest at 10% per annum for any unpaid balance. The Town contracts with a third-party collection agency to enforce the collection of delinquent tax bills. The Town also uses tax liens, garnishments, DMV stops, and the Virginia Set-Off Debt program in which the Town may claim a taxpayer’s State of Virginia Income Tax refund to collect delinquent tax bills. The taxpayer is responsible for all costs of collection.
